Information for Syrians with temporary Swedish residence permits
Due to the current situation in Syria, a decision has been made by the Swedish Migration Board. This decision means that as a Syrian citizen or stateless person who has lived in Syria with a temporary Swedish residence permit, you may apply for a permanent residence permit.
How to apply for a permanent residence permit
Each person must submit their own application form. For children under 18 years of age, both guardians must sign the form. Use the following forms:
Ansökan om permanent uppehållstillstånd för personer med tidsbegränsat uppehållstillstånd i Sverige, No 184011 in Swedish or
No 185011 in English
If you fill out the form in Swedish you improve the chances of a quick decision.
Send the application along with any additional documentation to:

Mark the envelope "Ansökan om förlängning".
When you have completed the application you will receive a decision as soon as possible. If the Swedish Migration Board requires additional information, you will be summoned to an interview. The Swedish Migration Board's decision is sent to the address that you specify on the application form.
If you have family members who want to move to Sweden
If the Swedish Migration Board grants you a permanent residence permit, your family may also be given permission to move here. Primarily, your immediate family (husband/wife and children under 18 years of age) may be given residence permits in Sweden. For your family member to receive a decision as quickly as possible, apply online .
