The Native Cultural Arts Museum hires staff each year to help facilitate educational programs which illustrate the lifestyles, arts, history, and cultures of Aboriginal peoples. The Museum is situated in the community of Grouard, at the west end of Lesser Slave Lake. All staff will be provided with furnished dormitory accommodations as a taxable benefit for the duration of their employment, which includes basic utilities and Wi-Fi. 
    As a 19th century costumed interpreter, will deliver a variety of educational programs both indoors and outdoors
    Responsible for the daily set-up and take-down of the outdoor historical village, which will require constructing and deconstructing canvas tents and tipis and building campfires  
    May be required to drive an ATV 
    When educational programming is not in operation, will be required to provide interpretive tours of the Museum and St. Bernard’s Mission as needed
    Other duties will include light maintenance, gift shop clerk, and office administration tasks as needed
    All summer staff are required to complete a two week training program prior to delivering educational programs
Qualifications
Requirements:
    Funding requirements for this job require applicants to be between 16 and 30 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada, and a full-time student returning to school in the next academic session
    Class 5 Driver’s license or the equivalent with an acceptable driving abstract for Interpreter Aides who will be operating an ATV
    Be available to work full-time as of May 2013
    Present a Criminal Record Check with a Venerable Sector screening
    Must be able to demonstrate a respect for diversity, cultures, and religions and be prepared to deliver program content and guided tours in a culturally sensitive manner
    Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
Assets:
    Experience driving an ATV
    First Aid and CPR certification
    Previous experience working with children
    Experience with outdoor living and camping
    Knowledge of Cree (any dialect) or French languages
    Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel
